I'm buying crypto for SEK 10,000 a day
Since 20 October I buy SEK 5,000 of Bitcoin and SEK 5,000 of Ethereum every single day, and film every purchase. Here is why, why Ethereum, and what can go wrong.
On 20 October I started something simple. Every day I buy crypto for SEK 10,000. Half in Bitcoin, half in Ethereum. And I film it, every day, with the real purchase on screen.
Why every day
Because I want to build a position, and I don't know where the bottom is. Nobody does. Spreading the purchases over time means I don't have to be right about one single day. Some days I'll buy too high, some days I'll get a good price. Over weeks it evens out.
What it doesn't do is protect me. If the price keeps falling, I lose money, buying every day or not. Daily buying spreads the entry. It does not remove the risk.
Why Ethereum
Bitcoin needs little explanation. Ethereum is the more interesting bet right now.
When I started, ether was down roughly 51% in dollars from its peak in August last year. But I'm not buying just because the price is lower. I'm buying because of tokenization, the idea that funds, shares and other assets move onto blockchains. And a lot of that is happening on Ethereum. BlackRock launched its tokenized fund BUIDL on Ethereum. Robinhood built its own chain for tokenized assets as an Ethereum layer two.
So for me Ethereum is a way to invest in tokenization.
The honest catch: the network being used more does not automatically make ether worth more. Adoption could grow while the price goes nowhere. That's the main risk in my own thesis, and I'd rather say it out loud than pretend it isn't there.
How I buy
Through Virtune's exchange-traded products on Avanza: Virtune Bitcoin Prime ETP and Virtune Staked Ethereum ETP. Roughly SEK 5,000 into each, every morning. On day two that was 61 units of the Bitcoin product and 87 of the Ethereum one.
Why I film it
Because talking about investing is cheap. Showing the actual purchase, every day, including the days when it's down, is not. If I believe in it, I should be willing to show it.
What would you have done, bought or waited? Tell me in the comments on any of the videos.
I work with Virtune, and I would never promote Virtune AB if I didn't use them myself. Crypto investments carry high risk. Neither I nor Virtune give investment advice. Securities can rise and fall in value, and there is no guarantee you get your money back. Read the prospectus, KID and terms at virtune.com. This is what I do with my own money, not a recommendation for yours.
