Dollar Ninja — +200% on the tracker, +105% in cash

A EUR/USD robot that ran for about 15 months in 2020–2021. The tracker showed +200%, but that figure includes deposits I added along the way — the real result was closer to +105%.

Dollar Ninja traded EUR/USD for about 15 months across 2020 and 2021. They were good numbers for that stretch — but the headline figure and the actual result are two different things, and that gap is worth explaining.

The two numbers

The public tracker showed +200%, but that number includes the extra money I deposited along the way — deposits get counted as if they were gains, which inflates the figure. Strip them out and the real picture is different: the account climbed to roughly +150%, then gave back about 30% of that as it started to turn, landing somewhere around +105%. That's the number that actually matters.

Why I switched it off

The catch: it ran at about 30% risk. That's a lot. Then it started handing the profit back — the same pattern I saw with the Grid Hedge Scalper. So I made the same call and switched it off.

The honest pattern across both: I can build a robot that works for a while. What I can't automate is the judgment to turn it off before it gives the profit back. That decision is where the edge actually lives — not in the code.
